Energy is at the heart of economic growth and social development. In recorded human history, no country has been able to improve standard of living of its citizens without substantially enhancing consumption of energy.
Developing and least developed countries are most vulnerable to climate change and least equipped to deal with it in terms of institutional mechanisms, know-how, availability of finance and access to clean technologies.
According to “Tracking SGD-7 Report”, about 29% of India‘s population didn’t have access to clean cooking in 2021. Availability of clean energy per capita is at 105 Watts as against global average of 268 Watts. While India has added substantial renewable energy capacity over last decade, people in semi-urban and rural areas dependent on agriculture, cottage industry and small-medium scale enterprises remain excluded from this energy transition process..
India is projected to become World’s 3rd Largest Economy by 2027 and continue to grow beyond that. Demand for clean energy is likely to increase substantially during this period. However, to ensure just & inclusive energy transition, it is important that Affordable Clean Energy (UN SDG-7) is made available to everyone and that each individual, industry is part of the Climate Action (UN SDG-13).
At AETERNA Clean Energy (ACE) we are working towards bridging the Energy Divide.
Demand for clean energy in the primary sector of economy remains scattered and hence not attractive for technologies developed keeping in mind economies of scale. This demand needs to be aggregated creating clusters to design financially viable solutions.
To achieve this, we at AETERNA Clean Energy are working on
- Community Solar and Energy Storage Projects
- Green Financing & Carbon Credits
- Development of carbon markets
- Collaborating with state-of-the-art technology companies
- Building a scalable business for emission reductions from agriculture and SME sectors.
We believe that one-size-fits-all approach can’t address issues related to climate change. Every region, country and even small communities have different challenges and need different solutions which are effective and have desired impact.
This requires innovative thinking in everything we do across the “Three Pillars of Our Business”:
- Technology: Use of cutting edge technologies through close cooperation with our international partners, industry experts and researchers.
- Finance: Partnership with development finance institutions, impact investors and philanthropic firms.
- Policy: Innovative approach to policies for attracting investments and technology for developing clean energy infrastructure at grassroots level.
